from Mexico City, take calzada Indios Verdes, follow the signs for the toll road (autopista de cuota) to Tuxpam, after the second tollbooth you can either continue on the tollway or take the toll-free federal highway Mexico-Tuxpam.In case you follow on the toll road (Tuxpam cuota), you'll reach another tollbooth where you will have to take the federal highway Mexico-Tuxpam by following the signs, you'll reach Poza Rica.
In case you take the federal highway at the second tollbooth of the toll road (Tuxpam cuota), just continue on the federal highway Mexico-Tuxpam.
By plane:
half an hour away from the city of Tuxpam is El Tajín airport in Poza Rica, is served by major domestic airlines. Most of the daily flights to Poza Rica come from the Mexico City International Airport.How to reach Isla Tajín from Poza Rica de Hidalgo, Veracruz By car: Take the highway to Tampico (MEX180), drive for 15 kilometers, and at the intersection with Tihuatlan take highway MEX127D to Tuxpam, drive for 36 kilometers, after 20 minutes aproximately you´ll reach Tuxpam.
From downtown Tuxpam drive for 12 kilometers to the thermoelectric plant, pass the Tampamachoco bridge and once you reach the thermoelectric plant take the dirt road, once this road ends follow along the beach for 4.5 km and you'll get to Isla Tajín Beach & River Resort.
